Jamie believes that an empathic approach both empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process. Understanding that a diagnosis translates to a different way of processing and interacting with the world around you, she believes that self-acceptance is the key to long-lasting personal growth and change. Jamie has over 13 years of experience in the developmental disability field and is skilled in teaching communication, social, life, vocational, and emotional skills using a variety of methods. She works with both children and adult and incorporates sensory integration techniques into her treatment as needed.

She was awarded the Central Illinois Business 40 Under 40 Award for her work in the disability field in 2016. Jamie is a proud member of the Association of Play Therapy and the American Counseling Association. She is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honors society that acknowledges and supports excellence in Professional Counseling.  Jamie graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield with a degree in Human Development Clinical Counseling.
